The Spelling Bee Took Place Today!

Thank you to all of the parents and relatives who were able to come to the spelling bee today to support your child. It was quite exciting!
We finished our projects in reading today by sharing and then evaluating them. They are hanging in the hall and are fantastic! If you get a chance to stop by and read them, I strongly encourage you to do so. Tomorrow our class will be starting the novel Summer of the Monkeys. It is pretty funny and I think they will enjoy reading it. At times the student will be working independently and others they will work with partners or small groups. We will be using the skill we used in Book Clubs to help deepen our understanding of the book and we'll also be learning/practicing new skills.
I am hoping kids are getting on the Study Island site at home. Our last chance to be on it at school will be on Wednesday. It is good practice for the NWEA and MontCAS tests that will soon be coming our way.

This week's important dates:
---Volleyball games-teachers vs. 6th grade will be Thursday, Feb. 19 at 3:15. I am not sure if it finishes at 3:45 or 4:00 but will let you know as soon as I know.
---Friday, February 20 from 6-7:30 p.m. is our school WINTER CARNIVAL!!! I hope all of you can come and have lots of fun. It's a great way to spend a Friday night. It's inexpensive and there are lots of good prizes. Hope to see you there!
