Done with Testing!

Hi. We finished testing today. They did a great job! We started individual research projects in science today. Ask your child what they are learning about. After gathering information, each student will create a poster about their topic to teach the rest of us. They are to learn interesting facts about their topic. Nothing boring! They can include anything that they find in their science book, other nonfiction books from home or the library, Internet, Discovery or History channel, or documentary films. Have fun. Learn things that will catch our interest and things we will want to share with others. Be creative with your poster. I will give you a sheet of poster board but you decide the layout, the info., and how to teach others about your topic.
Have a great evening everyone! I'm off to hear my nephew play in a band concert tonight at Lincoln Center. I'm so excited to finally hear him play.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Hi. I hope all of you were wearing your green today. We had a good day. Not too much new. Please have your child get to bed on time tonight as we have MontCAS testing tomorrow right at 8:30. Also, remember to eat a nutritional breakfast. Encourage your child to do his or her best. It is our time to shine!
The only homework for tonight might be Reading. Chapter 6 and each student's work for that chapter is due Wednesday. We will have reading in the afternoon since we are testing on math in the morning. Our goal is NO MISSING WORK!
A note will be coming home but just a heads up. Next Wednesday, March 25 we will have a Parent Meeting about Sixth Grade Blue Sheets. It's a fun way to end the year and involves many rewards for doing what they have been doing all year. It tends to help keep 6th graders on track. We will also discuss 6th grade graduation and our end of the year field trip. The field trip is earned by having signatures on the blue sheets for 6 out of 8 weeks. Come find out about all of this exciting information next Wednesday evening at 5:30. The meeting will only last 30-45 minutes and will be in Mr. Albarez's room. (Right across the hall from me.)
Thanks!
