Oooops! I missed Thursday!

I don't know about you, but I've had a difficult time remembering what day it is this week. Well, just so you know, it is FRIDAY! The kids have been working extremely hard. I'm so proud of there positive attitudes. You should see your child's report card today. If you have questions, please call.
Some students may have homework this weekend. They are to read p. 7-25 in our reading book, The Great Gilly Hopkins and then do CROPQV. Our Book Clubs will meet on Monday. Also, some may have language as homework, p. 104-105 (1-20). It is due Monday. Because of our Venture Theater play, we did not have a math assignment. We did review adding, subtracting, and multiplying fractions and mixed numbers.
I wish all of you a happy weekend! Rest up and enjoy your family time.

Welcome back!

Today we are finishing up our book Tracker with our final Book Club meeting. We will start our new book, The Great Gilly Hopkins, tomorrow. We are combining both 6th grade classes for this book. Each Book Club will have 2 students from our class along with 2 students from Mr. Albarez's class. The kids are excited about working with the other class.
In math we are continuing our work on multiplying and dividing fractions. The kids are finding this easier than adding and subtracting fractions. Of course, we will continue our Spiral Review in order to keep all of their skills fresh.
We are starting a new science unit today. It is called The Changing Earth.
In Social Studies we are completing Lesson 9. The kids are creating dramatizations about certain classes of the ancient Egyptians. We will be presenting next week to Mr. Albarez's class.
I hope this finds everyone healthy and happy!

Enjoy your day off!

Hi. I hope all of you are enjoying your day off. Friday we talked about and watched a video clip about Martin Luther King, Jr.'s famous "I Have a Dream" speech. All students are to come back to school on Tuesday with their own "Dream" speech, rhapsody, or poem. I would like to have those published this week.
Parents--a reminder that report cards come home this Friday.
